MSA announced today that Lucas Geiger has earned his Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license, an accreditation recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
Achieving PLA licensure requires proving competence and expertise in the ability to practice landscape architecture through passing the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) as prepared, administered and scored by the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards. The exam is comprised of four core competencies: Project and Construction Management, Inventory and Analysis, Design, and Grading, Drainage and Construction Documentation. As a professional licensing exam, the LARE tests applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities directly related to protecting public health, safety and welfare and marks the highest level of professional accreditation in the field of landscape architecture.
Geiger, PLA, holds an associate’s degree in mechanical drafting and CAD/CADD from the Madison Area Technical College as well as a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He joined MSA in May 2018 as a landscape architectural intern and was hired full time in May 2019 as a landscape associate.
“I am thrilled to congratulate Luke on achieving PLA credentials,” commented John Langhans, vice president of the Land service line at MSA. “This is a significant achievement for a professional landscape architect and is a testament to Luke’s dedication to his craft and to adhering to the highest level of quality in helping our client communities envision and shape their natural and built environments. We are fortunate to have him on our team.”
