Next50 represents the new and pioneering minds of MSA, a 35-and-under collective that engages with MSA projects, practices and philosophies through the lens of the young professional. A cultural support system as well as a corporate sounding board, Next50 is integral to the success of today and a link to the leadership of tomorrow.
Next50 is led by the Next50 Steering Committee. The committee’s core functions are to educate young professionals about MSA culture, business practices and core values; encourage and empower professional development; create an open, diverse and welcoming corporate culture; and help in attracting and retaining new talent. Each steering committee member serves as a young professionals liaison at their local MSA office as well as to a broader geography, ensuring full representation and inclusive dialogue across the firm.
Next50 was established in 2015 in reflection of MSA’s 50+ years of service to our client communities and to pose the question, “What will make the next 50 years even better?” To seek unique perspectives and answers, Next50 was born. This sector of young professionals comprises nearly one third MSA’s employee base and remains a thriving and integral component of our firm’s culture and vision.
Next50 Initiatives
Through annual Listening Sessions, Next50 identifies a set of top initiatives to guide their engagement efforts. Initiatives range from encouraging STEM outreach in our client communities to enhancing the MSA intern experience, coordinating mentorship opportunities and helping other young professionals prepare for career development milestones such as Professional Engineer or Professional Land Surveyor licensure.
