MSA announced today the hiring of Jeffrey Goetzman, PE, who will serve as a principal engineer in the Public Works service line in the firm’s Duluth office location.
Jeff joins MSA with 30 years of experience in the industry. Most recently, he served as a senior engineer and group manager for a Duluth-based engineering firm for eight years and the director of public works for the City of Superior, Wisconsin, for seven years. In those roles, Jeff provided public works department management, client management and public works infrastructure and bridge management. His experience includes managing all aspects of a municipal public works department including budgeting, capital improvement planning and project management — as well as leadership of over 90 individuals in the street, environmental, building inspection, fleet, landfill, airport, marina and parks and recreation divisions.
Mr. Goetzman earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and is a licensed professional engineer in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Duluth Chapter as well as the American Public Works Association (APWA) of Minnesota.
“We are excited to welcome Jeff to MSA,” commented Rob Uphoff, senior vice president and Public Works service line lead. “His experience managing both the public works needs of a large community as well as the needs of municipal and private clients underscores his understanding of the types of projects, challenges and opportunities of the industry. I look forward to Jeff’s contributions as a new resource for MSA clients of all sizes and locations.”
