MSA was recently selected to receive a 2026 Private Company Boards of the Year Award from MLR Media. Seven private company boards from across the nation were chosen to receive this year’s award and will be honored at the 2026 Private Company Governance Summit ® June 10-12 in Washington, D.C.
Private Company Boards of the Year awards recognize fiduciary and advisory boards that go above and beyond legal requirements to demonstrate exemplary business governance. Award winners share a dedication to serving their organization’s stakeholders and are models of organizational best practices and performance. Nominations are reviewed by a panel of private company board members and governance experts with winners chosen based on the merits of board leadership in business challenges or milestones; the development and execution of a CEO succession plan; commitment to continuing excellence; and adherence to the highest standards of governance.
“Our Board’s effectiveness is rooted in open, purposeful dialogue and a shared commitment to clarity,” commented MSA COO Mike Statz, PE. “This reciprocal, transparent communication creates a balanced partnership — one that aligns strategy with execution and keeps the entire organization moving forward together. I am honored to serve as chairman of this award-winning Board of Directors and thank each of them for their contributions.”
“MSA is honored to receive this award and grateful for the unwavering leadership of our Board of Directors,” remarked MSA CEO Nick Wagner, PE. “Our Board strikes the right balance between independence and engagement. In periods of transition and stability alike, they remain a trusted partner, true steward of our employee-ownership culture, and a model of successful governance — elevating our leadership and sharpening our path forward. I commend all the award winners and look forward to celebrating together in D.C.”
