MSA announced today the accomplishments of Landscape Architect Emma Wenman in earning Professional Landscape Architect licensure in the state of Wisconsin, an accreditation recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
Achieving PLA licensure requires proving competence and expertise in the ability to practice landscape architecture through passing the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) as prepared, administered, and scored by the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards. The exam is comprised of four core competencies: Inventory, Analysis, and Project Management; Planning and Design; Construction Documentation and Administration; and Grading, Drainage, and Stormwater Management. The LARE tests applicants’ knowledge, skills, and abilities directly related to protecting public health, safety, and welfare — and marks the highest level of professional accreditation in the field of landscape architecture.
Emma Wenman, PLA, joined MSA in 2022 and works from the firm’s Milwaukee office location. Her expertise supports a diverse clientele and full project lifecycle, with experience in project analysis, master planning, conceptual design, landscape planting, permitting, and construction implementation for public and private clients. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds certificates in both Environmental Studies and Studio Art/Art Studies. Emma currently serves as the chairperson of MSA’s Parks and Recreation Community of Practice (CoP).
“I’m thrilled to congratulate Emma on achieving PLA licensure” commented John Langhans, PE, vice president and Land service line lead at MSA. “She has proven herself not only as a talented landscape architect, but as someone dedicated to vision, quality and integrity in all her endeavors. This is an immense professional milestone and I look forward to Emma’s positive impact at MSA in the years to come. Congratulations!”
