MSA is proud to announce that Brian Huibregtse, PE, a Transportation and Traffic team leader for the firm, recently became certified as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE), as sponsored by the Transportation Professional Certification Board, Inc.
Attaining PTOE certification demonstrates a command of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the specialized application of traffic operations engineering. The certification requires that the holder first be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and represents one of the highest levels of licensing available in the Traffic Engineering field.
“Receiving PTOE certification is an important achievement,” commented Kevin Ruhland, vice president and Midwest Transportation program manager at MSA. “It is the perfect complement to Brian’s depth of knowledge and years of expertise, as well as a reflection of our broader dedication to imparting the highest level of quality to our projects and clients.”
Brian joined MSA in 2005 and is a trusted resource for intersection geometric and traffic signal design, intersection control evaluation, corridor studies, and traffic flow modeling and impact analysis, among others. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota and Wisconsin and is also a certified WisDOT TIA Preparer. Brian received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
