MSA Professional Services, Inc. (MSA) is proud to recognize the accomplishments of Public Works Engineer Hunter Nix, PE, who recently earned Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the state of Iowa.
To earn a PE license, engineers must hold a four-year degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program, work under a professional engineer for at least four years, pass two intensive competency exams and earn a license from the state licensure board. PE licensure is the engineering profession’s highest standard of competence – a symbol of achievement, assurance of quality and commitment to ethical standards of practice.
Nix joined MSA in 2019 and serves as a public works engineer in the firm’s Dubuque, Iowa, office. His experience spans a broad range of municipal projects including street reconstructions, water distribution and stormwater improvements, sanity sewer extension and replacements, trail reconstruction and site design. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
“I’m pleased to congratulate Hunter on attaining PE licensure,” commented Mike Statz, chief operating officer at MSA. “Becoming a PE is a significant achievement. Hunter is an integral member of our Public Works south team and I look forward to his continued contributions to the industry — and to the clients and communities we serve across Iowa and the broader Midwest.”
