To earn a PE license, engineers must hold a four-year degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program, work under a professional engineer for at least four years, pass two intensive competency exams and earn a license from the state licensure board. PE licensure is the engineering profession’s highest standard of competence – a symbol of achievement, assurance of quality and commitment to ethical standards of practice.
Evan Culver, PE, is based in the firm’s Des Moines, Iowa, location where he serves as a wastewater engineer. Evan joined MSA in 2020 and has over four years of experience in wastewater treatment facility evaluation, planning, design, permitting, and construction observation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University. In addition to being a licensed PE in Iowa, he is an FAA-licensed Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) pilot.
Connor Girten, PE, is a project engineer on MSA’s Mobility team based in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He joined the firm in 2021 and is experienced in roadway design, plan development, and agency coordination for WisDOT roadway projects as well as construction observation and materials testing. Connor holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In addition to PE licensure in Wisconsin, he is also a certified Portland Cement Concrete Technician I, a Nuclear Density Technician I, and a Transportation Materials Sampling Technician in the state of Wisconsin.
“I’m pleased to congratulate both Evan and Connor on attaining PE licensure,” commented Mike Statz, chief operating officer at MSA. “Achieving one’s PE is a significant professional milestone and mark of integrity and quality of work. I thank both of these individuals for their contributions to MSA and our clients thus far and look forward to watching them continue to thrive in the years to come.”
