MSA announced today the promotion of 10 accomplished professionals to the role of team leader or senior team leader within the firm. Each individual brings years of dedication and a strong demonstration of leadership and commitment to these new positions.
Matt Castillo, PE, joined MSA in 2014 and serves as a water and wastewater project manager on the firm’s Water service line. Based in Baraboo, Wisconsin, he has over 18 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering, with expertise in phosphorus compliance, wastewater facility design, process improvement, and treatment system analysis. Matt is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and Wisconsin.
Lucas Jones, PE, joined MSA in 2006 and serves as a project manager on the firm’s Water service line. Based in the organization’s St. Paul, Minnesota, location, he has over 18 years of diversified municipal and state project experience, including land development, public works, recreational, water, wastewater and stormwater projects. Lucas is a licensed Professional Engineer in Minnesota and Wisconsin and a trustee for MSA’s Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP).
Craig Nessman, PE, is a senior project engineer on the firm’s Building service line and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) team based in Mequon, Wisconsin. He has over 25 years of experience designing HVAC systems for educational, commercial, municipal, healthcare and eldercare clients. Craig joined MSA in 2023 with the acquisition of Fredericksen Engineering, Inc., and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin.
Marcus Rue, PE, is a project manager on the firm’s Land service line with over 15 years of diversified experience in project management and civil engineering for parks and recreation, waterfront, and site planning projects. He joined MSA in 2020 and works from the organization’s Baraboo, Wisconsin, location. Marcus is a licensed Professional Engineer in Louisiana, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, as well as a certified Clean and Resilient Marina Professional through the Association of Marina Industries (AMI).
Eric Schmidt, PE, joined MSA in 2022 and serves as a principal project manager on the firm’s Mobility service line. Eric has over 12 years of experience in the design and management of roadway, bridge, trail, transit and aviation projects across the United States. Eric works from MSA’s St. Paul, Minnesota, office location. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts.
Sheri Scott, PE, ENV SP, is a project manager on the firm’s Water service line based in Appleton, Wisconsin. She joined MSA in 2018 and has over 20 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of water, water resources, and wastewater projects. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado and Wisconsin and an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) through the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI).
Brad Stuczynski, PE, LEED AP, is a project manager on the firm’s Water service line based in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He joined MSA in 2003 and has over 21 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction management of a variety of municipal infrastructure projects, including streets, utilities, potable water, stormwater, and wastewater systems. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin and a certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
Lance Teunissen, PE, is being promoted to the role of senior team leader of engineering as part of the firm’s Water service line. Lance joined MSA in 2017 with the acquisition of Muermann Engineering and has over 25 years of experience in industrial, water, and wastewater planning, design, and construction. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, and works from the firm’s Kiel, Wisconsin, location.
John Trickel, PE, is a Principal Mechanical Engineer on the firm’s Building service line and MEP team. Based in Des Moines, Iowa, John joined MSA in 2024, bringing over 25 years of experience in business ownership, HVAC, and plumbing design, with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency and delivering detailed project outcomes. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wisconsin, as well as a Certified Plumbing Designer and Commissioning Authority.
James Watters, PE, is a transportation project manager on the firm’s Mobility service line. Based in Des Moines, Iowa, location, James joined the firm in 2014 and has over 15 years of experience in a variety of transportation projects both in design and construction administration. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
