MSA is proud to recognize the accomplishments of Water Resources Engineer and Project Manager Jeff Felland, PE, who was recently recognized as an Assured Wetland Delineator (AWD) by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Individuals achieving AWD status are authorized to conduct and author reports on wetland delineations for Waterways Program wetland permits and state-mandated local programs without the oversight of the DNR prior to initiating permitting actions. To achieve AWD credentials, one must prove professional education and competency relevant to wetland delineation, with an application that is scored and approved by a Wetland Delineation Review Panel of interagency experts.
Felland joined MSA in 2016 with nine years of prior experience and serves as a project manager on the firm’s Water service line where he contributes to a wide variety of environmental, stormwater, permitting, stream restoration, site development and municipal infrastructure projects. Felland earned bachelor’s degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as Zoology and Biological Aspects of Conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and works in MSA’s Madison, Wisconsin, office location.
“Achieving AWD credentials is a huge professional accomplishment,” commented Jason Miller, vice president and Water service line lead at MSA. “It is also highly beneficial to the projects we lead and the clients we serve, being able to shorten the regulatory review process and complete all the requisite permitting work in-house. Congratulations to Jeff on an achievement very well deserved.”
