As funding team leader and Funding Community of Practice (CoP) chair, Mary partners with clients to tailor funding packages based on specific needs. She works extensively with various grant and loan programs, assists with administration of funds and documents compliance requirements to help facilitate project financing from start to finish.
Her expertise in community and project funding, municipal and wastewater engineering, operations and maintenance, user charge systems and utility use ordinances has made her an asset to a variety of water and sewer systems projects. For example, she worked closely with the Ho-Chunk, Wis., Department of Health, the Ho-Chunk Council and the Wisconsin DNR to acquire funding for a $10 million wastewater treatment facility upgrade in Black River Falls, Wis. The facility now serves a casino, health center, private housing, central government and other facilities.
In addition to her project work, Mary has written numerous operations and maintenance manuals in direct cooperation with directors of public works and facility operators for a variety of projects.
Mary is a certified independent municipal advisor and a member of the Wastewater Operators’ Association. She earned her civil engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and is a licensed professional engineer in Wisconsin.
