The Kilbourn Public Library serves the Wisconsin communities of Lake Delton and Wisconsin Dells. MSA helped enhance this community resource by designed an 18,815-square-foot addition and 7,405-square-foot remodeled area. The expanded facility offers residents and visitors more amenities. The design includes sustainable elements that save energy and add to the ambiance.

The library uses a ground-source heating and cooling system with radiant floor heating. Sunlight provides natural illumination through daylighting tubes and large. Fixed shade devices help regulate the light. The library also features the following sustainable features:
  • High-efficiency lighting fixtures
  • A rain garden and bio-retention pond with native vegetation
  • Use of many recycled and/or recyclable materials
MSA designed the two-level addition to complement the existing building. The addition includes a study and program room that users can partition as needed as well as a garage and support area for the bookmobile.

A long-term partnership with the City of Wisconsin Dells and the Village of Lake Delton made this $2.9 million project possible. MSA also helped the City obtain a $7,000 rebate from Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy.

The Daily Reporter and Associated Buildings and Contractors named this newly remodeled information center as one of the state's “top project” in 2012.
