The International Crane Foundation hired MSA to lead the integrated project delivery team, responsible for creating a new, five-acre exhibit.

The International Crane Foundation (ICF) works to protect cranes and conserve the ecosystems on which they depend. ICF has relied on MSA as a trusted partner for more than 20 years, so when contemplating adding a new, five-acre exhibit to house its four species of African Cranes, selecting MSA to lead the project team was an obvious choice.

MSA served as the overall project manager, keeping the project on schedule and more than $200,000 under budget. MSA provided site, civil and water system engineering, all surveying and staking, and construction management services.

This project is dedicated to sustainability, as demonstrated by the following:
  • Our team recycled all asphalt drives, fencing and building remnants that we removed from the site.
  • The project team installed pervious pavement, made from 100% recycled glass.
  • The project area includes numerous basins where rain water is collected and stored for reuse.
  • Solar heating systems and electricty generating photovoltaic panels provide nearly 300% of the exhibit's electrical needs, making the project a net provider of energy to the utility grid.
In October 2009, this project received top award from the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance, the SE2 Award of Excellence.
