The project reconstructed approximately 54,000 feet of roadway, 34,000 feet of sewer, and about 53,000 feet of water main over three construction seasons.

The City of Washburn needed an overhaul of its municipal infrastructure. MSA helped the City reconstruct 110 city blocks of sewer, water, storm sewer and roadway systems over a three year period. MSA also completed sewer and water studies, and provided project design, bidding, and construction services.

MSA worked with Washburn to secure $13,714,000 in grants and loans for the project:
  • USDA Rural Development Loan – $8,787,000
  • USDA Rural Development Grant – $1,850,000
  • Dept of Commerce Demonstration Grant – $1,600,000
  • Section 154 Environmental Grants – $1,270,0000
  • WDNR Safe Drinking Water Loan Fund Grant – $207,000
