MSA announces that James Watters, PE, has earned his Minnesota professional engineer’s license. He works out of the firm’s St. Paul office and provides municipal engineering services.

Watters' project involvement includes design and construction phase engineering for utility and street improvement projects.

“I enjoy being able to work on projects from their initial design phase to the completion. In the end, you have new or improved infrastructure that benefits communities,” Watters said. “The challenge is coordinating all of the pieces, such as contractor activities, and getting everything done in a timely fashion with the least amount of disturbance.”

Prior to joining MSA, Watters worked as a staff engineer for three years at a transportation consulting firm in Cedar Rapids, IA. In addition to this, he has experience in construction materials testing and research as a lab intern for the Iowa Department of Transportation in Ames, IA.

Watters earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University.
