MSA’s Madison office has been supporting United Way of Dane County for more than a decade. United Way addresses specific goals in the areas of education, income and health – the building blocks of a stable life.

MSA recently participated in the employee campaign that allows staff to easily pledge funds to support the organization. Our firm matched employee contributions to extend the program’s benefits.

Companies can assist United Way by volunteering on a committee, loaning an employee or joining the Business Volunteer Network.

According to United Way, each goal is “measured through specific community-wide metrics, therefore ensuring that our results are efficient, local, and focused on tackling the underlying causes of problems.”

For instance, the KinderReady program helps parents learn how to promote their children's healthy development so they are ready for school. Bilingual parent educators provide in-home parent education and child development services to families with children under the age of five, as well as parenting groups and bilingual parent-child playgroups. Services are available in Spanish and English and are free of charge.

This program, along with Parent-Child Home, are research-based home visitation programs that are a key part of United Way's work in early childhood. They are focused on the goal of ensuring that children enter kindergarten developmentally ready to succeed.
