Katrina Royce-Malmgren joins MSA as our Knowledge Manager, a new position based in the firm’s Champaign office. She will help develop a knowledge management strategy for our firm’s many information systems and processes.

“I have always had an interest in a wide range of academic areas—from humanities to science—and I love researching,” said Royce-Malmgren. “I became a librarian because I enjoy reading, analyzing and organizing information. I work to provide people with the best information resources to meet their needs—and it is really a lot of fun.”

Knowledge Sharing

In her role as Knowledge Manager, Royce-Malmgren will be involved with information organization and access, records management, mentorship and process improvement.

She also will help support the firm’s intranet and Communities of Practice (CoPs), groups related to our professionals’ area of expertise. Members of CoPs regularly communicate to deepen their knowledge and expertise by interacting on an ongoing basis.

“I am excited to be in a position to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing at MSA,” she said. “My goal is to connect teams and individuals with the right information at the right time.”

University Experience

Royce-Malmgren’s previous experience includes working at the University of Illinois as an enterprise systems specialist on the Human Resources Information Systems team and Abbott Laboratories as an information scientist on the Information Architecture team.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Psychology major from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire, and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.
