Scott Martin, PE, likes to be involved in all aspects of project development as a vice president with MSA, based at the firm's Rhinelander office. That desire to be involved and to fully understand the issues led to his appointment to the firm’s Board of Directors.

“I want to participate in setting the direction of MSA and contribute to the firm’s continued success and growth,” said Martin, a 25-year veteran of MSA who lives in Tomahawk.

“We are excited about Scott’s passion for MSA and client service. We welcome Scott’s diverse experience and innovative ideas which will help us better serve all of our stakeholders, including clients, partners and employees,” said Mike Statz, MSA Chairman of the Board.

As a vice president, Martin now oversees approximately 30 engineers, planners, technicians and surveyors in the firm’s Rhinelander, Marshfield and Rice Lake offices.

MSA, a multi-disciplinary employee-owned company, now has 14 offices throughout the Upper Midwest.

Martin’s municipal engineering experience, which spans 32 years, includes a wide variety of sanitary sewer, water and roadway design and construction projects completed for communities throughout north central Wisconsin.

He also has helped communities obtain grants and funding and establish tax increment financing districts.

Although Martin has worked with many Northern Wisconsin communities, he is especially proud of his largest project in Washburn. He led a $14 million project that called for sewer/water and road reconstruction of 110 city blocks during a four-year period. He helped the community obtain grants to pay for 75% of the cost. The project was completed on time and on budget.

Twenty-five years ago, Martin decided to take the job at MSA so he could enjoy the Northwoods lifestyle. His family moved to a Tomahawk home on the Wisconsin River where he still lives today.

Martin earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a licensed professional engineer in Wisconsin.
