MSA’s employees recently worked together to donate 2,440 items to 14 food pantries throughout the Upper Midwest. Their efforts were part of a yearly food drive to assist their neighbors in need.

As part of the Food Drive, MSA announced that the five offices that collected the most items and/or donations per person would each receive $100 to be awarded to the food pantry of its choice.

The offices and recipients are as follows: Beaver Dam, St. Stephen Food Pantry, Horicon, WI; Duluth, MN, Chum Emergency Food Shelf; Quad Cities, IA/IL, John Glenn Back Pack Program; Rice Lake, WI, Chetek Food Pantry; and St. Paul, MN, Neighbors, Inc.

During the holiday season, MSA also conducted an interactive campaign to combat hunger.

For the third year, MSA sponsored #MSAMittens4Meals, which encouraged participants to post pictures of themselves with our mitten-themed holiday card on three of MSA’s social networking sites: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

For each photo posted with the hashtag #MSAMittens4Meals, MSA donated five meals to Feeding America. Through the support of participants, a total of 14,300 meals were provided to those in need. You can see a roundup of the posts on Storify.

President/CEO Gilbert Hantzsch said, “We realize that communities cannot thrive unless their citizens have enough to eat. Our holiday mitten campaign and food drive allows us to contribute to this ongoing challenge. We appreciate the support of our clients and employees who participate in this cause.”
