MSA announces new team leaders

MSA announces the promotion of Jeffrey Anderson, PE, Duluth, and Greg Gunderson, PE, Madison, who have been named team leaders.

President/CEO Gil Hantzsch said, “I would like to congratulate our newest team leaders who have demonstrated technical and marketing excellence and an ability to lead others to achieve MSA’s goals.”

Jeffrey Anderson

Anderson has approximately 23 years of environmental consulting experience. Throughout his career, he has helped clients navigate a broad spectrum of environmental issues and has managed projects from conceptual planning through implementation and closure. Anderson has extensive experience working with state regulatory agencies in and with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on wetland compliance-related issues.

“My excitement over this new opportunity is driven by a motivation to work with staff to develop them as multi-talented professionals and integrate our combined skills into a team effort which leads to a shared success,” Anderson said.

Environmental Experience

His diverse background includes design and oversight of numerous remedial actions. Anderson also has completed Property Transaction Screening, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, brownfield redevelopment, wetland delineation and mitigation, and regulated waste inspection oversight.

He earned a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth and is a licensed professional engineer in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Anderson also is a certified wetland delineator.

Greg Gunderson

Gunderson joined MSA 11 years ago and recently moved to the Madison office from Baraboo where he was a Senior Project Engineer He currently serves as the chair of MSA’s young professional group named Next50.

As a team leader, Gunderson will lead efforts to help MSA’s clients upgrade their wastewater treatment and collection systems to meet challenging state and federal permit requirements. Gunderson and his team specialize in all aspects of wastewater treatment including advanced biological secondary treatment, to enhanced tertiary nutrient removal. His team is involved in all aspects of a project from initial feasibility planning, to financing, design, and through construction.

Helps Clients Meet Water Quality Rules

As part of his wastewater expertise, Gunderson has helped many MSA clients plan for implementation of stringent phosphorus limitations, including evaluation of innovative watershed-based approaches, such as adaptive management and water quality trading.

“I’m excited and humbled to lead a team of talented and dedicated professionals to continue MSA’s tradition of providing innovative and cost-effective treatment solutions to our clients,” Gunderson said.

Gunderson earned B.S. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is a licensed professional engineer in Wisconsin.
